Dance Electronic Music

As electronic dance music called a wealth of danceable music styles that electronic instruments like synthesizers and samplers as well as operate since the 1990s, and native processing (software-based music production in the form of software synthesizers and software samplers). In general, all sounds are generated to the synthetic voices, however, are often non-electronic instruments in the form of samples built into the arrangement.

As has become synonymous with dance music and sometimes dance or naturalized, a concept particularly in the non-English-speaking world, the “massentauglicheren” refers to the style of electronic dance music.

Characteristic elements

The electronic dance music is based mostly on the so-called repetitive arrangement that is generated by the constant repetition of melody and rhythm patterns, a trance-like effect. The vibrancy of the music in most styles by slight changes in the patterns (such as in filter effects like acid) or even surprising interjections (such as in the minimal techno) was achieved. There are also styles that rely on the traditional song pattern, such as the Euro Dance, and others in which both elements are combined, such as the trance.
Development

The repetitive arrangement is actually on the American musicians of the so-called E-minimalist music movement back (such as Steve Reich), which in the 1960s with a minimalist, repetitive, but experimented with traditional instruments played arrangements. This type of arrangement has been adopted by many bands in the late 1960s pop music. Especially within the so-called Krautrock movement experiments in this direction were often, as shown in the “Songs” as of Can and Tangerine Dream. Particularly influential, however, was the German band Kraftwerk, who used the first band in the 70s, completely electronic, danceable beats as the foundation of the music.

In the United States in the 1970s he pursued a new DJ culture, closely related to the scene of the so-called disco music, but also connected with the emerging hip-hop was. The disc jockeys were limited from now on no more pure again “hang up” of music, but experimented with the plates by about single repeated rhythm fragments as so-called loop play. From this scene emerged the so-called Music House, the first recognized style of electronic dance music.

The style of electro funk combined the first two elements – European synthpop and American House and hip-hop – and developed from both Europe and the USA in the early 80s, many sub-genres and developments, some of which were close to more like pop, but partly also purely sat on the danceable aspect (eg, techno).

In the late 1980s succeeded in electronic dance music’s commercial breakthrough. From now on, almost every year caused new sub-genre, which mixed the new music form with other elements such as rock, pop, reggae and Goth. To date, the electronic dance music has become an integral part of pop music that has changed not only the music but also the fashion and entertainment habits, but also drug use dramatically. An example are the raves, mass events, where there is dancing to electronic dance music, often for days, often accompanied by stimulant drugs such as ecstasy or amphetamine.
